Cancer Education and Awareness in the Community
South Bay Tumor Board
The South Bay Tumor Board is composed of community physicians. The facilitators of the South Bay Tumor Board include a medical oncologist, a surgical oncologist, a radiation oncologist, a pathologist and a radiologist. The Distinguished Lecturer (see below) is also invited to participate in the discussion.
Case histories are presented along with projection and discussion of the pertinent pathologic tissue and radiographic images.
Care is taken to keep the discussion HIPAA compliant and within the bounds of patient confidentiality.
At the conclusion of the discussion, learning points are outlined, or specific recommendations for the treatment of the patient case are made by the attending physicians.
