Cancer Education and Awareness in the Community
Appeal for Donations
I am writing to you on behalf of Community Cancer Foundation, of which I am Executive Director. I helped found Community Cancer Foundation with the purpose of improving cancer education and awareness in our South Bay Community.
In spite of the fact that we live in an affluent and well-educated area, surrounded by prominent, academic medical centers, the fact is that there is a lack of opportunity and access for both medical professionals as well as the public at large to learn about the newest and most advanced information in the field of cancer.
Community Cancer Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote cancer and medical education and awareness by providing support and organization for such activities in the community at large. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation.
We are the organizers and promoters of the South Bay Tumor Board, which meets monthly, and which provides a forum for discussion of difficult or unusual as well as common patient cases and an opportunity for medical professionals to learn from such cases. In some situations it will also be accessible to the public and provide an opportunity for second opinion discussions.
Each South Bay Tumor Board is accompanied by a Distinguished Lecturer, who provides a CME accredited talk on an important medically-related subject. The Distinguished Lecturer is a nationally recognized expert in the field.
Community Cancer Foundation also organizes events for the public at large. Our special mission is to bring awareness and information on subjects that do not normally get broad media attention.
I believe that our mission is unique and fills a void. Won't you please give generously to our cause ?
Thank you so much for your attention.
Sincerely,
A. Richard Adrouny, M.D.
Executive Director
